UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk hinted on her Snapchat that her next opponent will be announced soon.
On Thursday, Jedrzejczyk posted a photo with two interesting messages on her water bottles. The champion is known for writing inspiring messages on her bottles.
One bottle reads, “Fight news coming soon… get ready.” The second bottle reads, “If there’s fight news… the [expletive] getting real.”
Jedrzejczyk recently revealed she had started her training camp for her next fight. This suggests, her next fight will be taking place sooner rather than later.
Women’s strawweight contender Jessica Andrade is the top candidate for the next title opportunity at 115 pounds. She is on a three-fight win streak and is unbeaten as a strawweight. Her win streak includes a decision win over Invicta Strawweight Champion Angela Hill, a submission win over Joanne Calderwood, and a TKO win over former title challenger Jessica Penne.
After her win over Hill, UFC President Dana White confirmed Andrade was the top choice to get the next title shot.
However, there are other options to fight Jedrzejczyk. Michelle Waterson is on a two-fight win streak in the division and is coming off an impressive submission win over Paige VanZant. Tecia Torres is another contender is an impressive resume. She is coming off a decision win over Bec Rawlings.
Jedrzejczyk is undefeated with 13 wins. Seven of her wins have been in the UFC. She won the title by defeating former champion Carla Esparza by TKO. She also four successful title defense. Jedrzejczyk has defended her title against Penne, Valerie Letourneau, Claudia Gadelha, and Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
