Karolina Kowalkiewicz earned herself a spot in the octagon opposite of champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk but came up short, ultimately losing by way of unanimous decision. Kowalkiewicz will not sit idly by until another championship opportunity presents itself, however, as she has already started her mission back to another shot at “Joanna Champion’s” gold piece.
Kowalkiewicz already has her eyes on her next potential opponent and what better way to earn a shot at the gold than to square off with perennial championship contender Claudia Gadelha. She told Flo Combat:
“I don’t pick my opponents, but a fighter I want to test myself against next is Claudia Gadelha. I think she’s one of the best female fighters in the world and I think it makes sense with us both at the top of the rankings.”
