Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu standout and mixed martial arts prospect Mackenzie Dern will be making her return to action on March 10 at LFA 6 when she battles Katherine Roy.
Dern has made a major impact on the MMA scene when she made her debut last July, defeating Kenia Rosas by way of unanimous decision. She would proceed to submit Motana Stewart in July with a wild rear naked choke in the first round. As she prepares for Roy in just a couple weeks, Dern still has one eye on the Ultimate Fighting Championship:
“I would like to do the Pan American Championships, which is one weekend after my upcoming MMA fight so I’m hoping I don’t get injured. Right now I am [ranked] No. 1 in the world [in jiu-jitsu], so I would like to go into the UFC being No. 1 in the world. The ranking finishes at the Worlds, then hopefully I can make my debut in the UFC this year, maybe in June or July. I would like to do that.”
