Masvidal Wastes No Time, Becomes First Fighter To Officially Callout GSP For Return Fight

On Wednesday, it was revealed by MMAFighting.com, former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre has agreed to terms with the UFC and the contract is close to being finalized.

The report also states a 2017 third quarter return is likely for the longest reigning 170-pound champion in the history of the UFC. No opponent has surfaced but there were rumors last year of a fight between St-Pierre and current middleweight champion Michael Bisping at UFC 206 in December but it didn’t come to fruition.

We are in a new year and some one has thrown their hat into the St-Pierre derby.

Masvidal is arguably the hottest welterweight in the UFC. “Gamebred” has won three consecutive including his last one, a second-round knockout of former UFC lightweight title contender and the fighter who was the hottest fighter in the division.

Masvidal’s called out everyone and anyone in the division including Nick Diaz and Demian Maia but to no avail.

Maybe St-Pierre will be the one who steps to the plate and takes on the Miami native.
