Michael Bisping Drops A Date For His UFC Return

UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping says he expects to fight at UFC 211 on May 13.

Bisping revealed when he plans to fight on his radio show on Thursday.

Bisping also says he will defend his title against Yoel Romero unless he gets offered a fight against former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre.

UFC President Dana White recently confirmed Romero would get the next shot at the UFC 185-pound title.

Bisping is currently on the shelf after getting knee surgery.

Bisping is on a five-fight win streak in the UFC. Wins over CB Dollaway, Thales Leites, and former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva earned him a shot at the UFC title. In June, at UFC 199, Bisping knocked out then-champion Luke Rockhold to win the title. He has since defended the title once. In October, at UFC 204, Bisping won a decision against Dan Henderson.

Romero has earned a title opportunity after being unbeaten as a middleweight and unbeaten in the UFC. He is on an eight-fight win streak with six of those wins coming by knockout or TKO. Romero is coming off a knockout win over former UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman in November. His win streak also includes victories over Derek Brunson, Tim Kennedy, Lyoto Machida, and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.

UFC 211 will take place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic will defend his title against former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos in the main event.
