No Goldberg, No Problem, Here’s The UFC’s New Broadcast Team For UFC 208

Mike Goldberg’s last broadcast in the UFC booth took place at UFC 207 in December. His contract was set to expire and the UFC opted to not renew his deal. At the end of the broadcast, the UFC didn’t do a highlight package for Goldberg and neither him nor Joe Rogan were allowed to mention his departure except for a remark “Goldie” snuck in at the end to the production team.

As the old saying goes, “The show goes on” and the first pay-per-view without Goldberg takes place this Saturday at UFC 208.

The announce team for the show will be of Joe Rogan providing analysis alongside Jon Anik, who for now will replace Goldberg as UFC president said in December they hope to have a replacement in by July and the final piece of the team will be UFC light heavyweight champion and Fox Sports analyst Daniel Cormier.

This will be the first time all three have worked together for a broadcast. It is interesting Cormier is in the booth as it goes back to the days in the mid-to- late 2000’s when former light heavyweight and heavyweight champion Randy Couture would broadcast shows with Goldberg and Rogan and add in the fact that Cormier is apart of UFC 208, it will eight weeks between then and title defense against Anthony Johnson at UFC 210 on April 8th.

UFC 208 takes place on Saturday night from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The main event features Holly Holm battling Germaine de Randamie for the inaugural women’s featherweight title.
