Richard Corminal, an overseas Filipino worker, is taking his career to a completely new level when he challenges Shannon “OneShin” Wiratchai at ONE: Warrior Kingdom in the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
Corminal, who worked as a trainer in Malaysia, told ABS-CBN news that he has been a fan of the sport since first seeing it in the early 2000s. “When I saw an MMA bout for the first time, I got hooked. It was exciting, and it’s something different. There are a lot of options to win and weapons to utilize. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to be an MMA fighter.”
After picking up a reputation for himself as a fighter, ONE Championship finally gave him the call to square off with Wiratchai. “I am so happy. The feeling is like winning an MMA title. ONE Championship is the biggest promotion in Asia, and to be part of it, it’s truly an honor. Everything that I did in training is all worth it because I’ve made it here.”
