Pocket Change Report — UFC Houston Fighters Walk With Chump Change In Reebok Deal

UFC Fight Night 104 took place on Saturday night from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The main event featured Chan Sung Jung returning from a three-year layoff to score a first-round knockout over Dennis Bermudez in featherweight action. In the co-main event, Felice Herrig notched a unanimous decision over Alexa Grasso in women’s strawweight action.

The 24 fighters on the card took home a robust $90,000 as part of the Reebok deal with the UFC Outfitting Policy. The only fighters on the card to pocket more than $10,000 were Bermudez and light heavyweight Ovince Saint Preux who lost to Volkan Oezdemir by unanimous decision.

Under the program, fighters are paid based on their total number of UFC bouts, as well as Zuffa-era WEC fights (January 2007 and later) and Zuffa-era Strikeforce bouts (April 2011 and later). Fighters with with one-to-five fights receive $2,500 per appearance, six-to-ten fights receive $5,000, 11-15 bouts receive $10,000, 16-20 bouts receive $15,000 and 21 bouts and more get $20,000. Additionally, UFC champions earn $40,000 and title challengers receive $30,000.
