The first and only heavyweight champion of ONE Championship, Brandon Vera took home the inaugural title at ONE: Spirit of Champions on December 11, 2015.
After Chi Lewis Parry’s drop out from the bout only a week before the event, heavyweight Paul Cheng decided to take the bout on short notice.
Unfortunately for Cheng, Vera achieved a first round knockout for the victory.
The fight did not last long, as Vera sent a careening head kick into the frontal lobes of Cheng within 26 seconds of the fight.
Since the event, Vera has defended his title once. At ONE: Age of Domination in December of last year, Vera successfully defended his title from Hideki Sekine. Vera achieved a TKO within the first round.
