On Sunday, former UFC Welterweight Champion Johny Hendricks made his middleweight debut in the UFC.
In the co-main event of a UFC Fight Night event in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Hendricks fought former Bellator Middleweight Champion Hector Lombard.
After three rounds of back-and-forth action, Hendricks was able to pick up a unanimous decision win over Lombard.

While both fighters had success throughout the fight, Hendricks footwork and selective striking won him the fight. Hendricks’ wrestling pedigree also helped him win the fight. He stopped numerous takedown attempts from Lombard and was able to land clean shots in the process.
This win snapped a three-fight losing streak for Hendricks as a welterweight. The losing streak almost resulted in Hendricks retiring from the sport, but this major win at 185 pounds has rejuvenated the former champion’s career.
