Ronda’s Man Ditches Coach Edmond Ahead Of Saturday’s Main Event, Will Not Be In Corner

UFC heavyweight Travis Browne will not have his coach Edmond Tarverdyan in his corner for his main event fight on Sunday.

Browne is the boyfriend of former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey. Tarverdyan is the head coach for both fighters.

In Tarverdyan’s place will be Ray Sefo and Ricky Lundell cornering the heavyweight contender.

On Sunday, Browne will fight heavyweight prospect Derek Lewis in a five-round fight to headline a UFC Fight Night event in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Browne is currently on a two-fight losing streak. He is coming off a decision loss to former UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum in September at UFC 203. In July, at UFC 200, Browne lost to former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez by TKO.

Lewis is on a five-fight win streak that includes four wins by knockout or TKO. His win streak includes victories over Gabriel Gonzaga, Roy Nelson, and Shamil Abdurakhimov.
