The UFC has released an extended preview for their next pay-per-view event, UFC 208.
The extended preview highlights the two headlining fights on March 4 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley will fight top contender Stephen Thompson for the second time in the main event.
In November, at UFC 205, Woodley defended his welterweight for the first time when he fought Thompson. The two fought in a back-and-forth battle that was awarded “Fight of the Night.” However, at the end of the fight, the judges scored the bout as a majority draw. Since there wasn’t a concrete winner, the UFC booked an immediate rematch.
UFC lightweight contenders Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson will fight for an interim title in the co-main event.
Nurmagomedov is undefeated with 24 wins. While Ferguson is on an eight-fight win streak in the UFC.
Both lightweight contenders are coming off major wins in November. Nurmagomedov submitted Michael Johnson. Ferguson won a five-round decision against former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael dos Anjos.
UFC 209 will also feature a pivotal fight in the heavyweight division as Alistair Overeem fights Mark Hunt. Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rashad Evans will make his middleweight debut at the event as he fights Daniel Kelly.
