UFC President Dana White had plenty of things to say about Saturday’s UFC Fight Night event.
The UFC’s annual SuperBowl event was headlined by the return of “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung, who returned to the UFC after over three years away from the sport. Jung fought Dennis Bermudez in the main event. It took Jung less than one round to defeat Bermudez by knockout.
“I don’t think anyone in the history of the fight game has come back after a three-plus year layoff and look as good as he did tonight,” White said about Jung. “Very impressive, and he pumped some excitement into UFC Korea.”
In the co-main event, Felice Herrig pulled off an upset when she defeated previously unbeaten Alexa Grasso.
“In the promotion for this fight, I was saying, ‘Grasso is a very well-rounded, up-and-coming fighter. She could be the future of the division.’ But, she was facing a really gritty, tough veteran in Felice Herrig. Tonight, she came in and did exactly what she needed to do. She was the spoiler tonight.”
White also talks about the three-round war between Jessica Andrade and Angela Hill, Volkan Oezdemir’s split decision win over Ovince Saint Preux, and next Saturday’s UFC 208.
