UFC Houston: Andrade, Hill Go To War In Potential Best Female Fight Of All Time

The UFC’s annual SuperBowl weekend event takes place this Saturday at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

“The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung will return to the UFC, after over three years away, to fight Dennis Bermudez in the main event of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night.

The main card starts with a women’s strawweight fight with major title implications as strawweight contender Jessica Andrade fights Angela Hill.

Hill was more active with her strikes at the start of the first round. Andrade walked Hill down and would throw flurries. Hill managed to survive Andrade’s flurries throughout the beginning of the fight. Hill landed strikes of her own while being defensive towards her opponent. Andrade continued to be aggressive for the remainder of the round, but Hill showed off a strong chin and never stopped trying to produce offense of her own.

Neither fighter backed down in the start of the second round. Andrade continued to attack with vicious flurries, but Hill stayed calm and landed punches and knees of her own. Hill continued to show off her impressive chin by absorbing multiple combinations. Eventually, Andrade went for her first takedown and succeeded. Andrade took Hill’s back, but Hill made her way back to her feet. Andrade then picked Hill up and slammed her to finish the round on top.

Both fighters engaged in a slugfest to start the final round. Andrade continued to land devastating punches, but Hill’s chin continued to absorb the shots. Hill briefly dropped Andrade following a punch of her own. Andrade got back to her feet and continued to pick apart Hill. The fight ended with both fighters throwing everything they have to finish the fight.

Official result:

Jessica Andrade def. Angela Hill by unanimous decision [30-17, 30-17, 30-27](
