The UFC returns to the Great White North for a special Sunday UFC Fight Night event in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
In the main event, heavyweight prospect Derrick Lewis will fight his toughest opponent to date when he fights longtime contender Travis Browne.
Lewis came out aggressive but ate a punch from Browne. Lewis went on to control the position in the cage. Both fighters traded kicks. Later, Browne became the aggressor and got Lewis against the cage. With a body kick, Browne hurt Lewis. While throwing a kick, Browne was briefly dropped by Lews. Browne quickly got up and hurt Lewis with another body kick. Browne continued to land kicks to the body, but Lewis survived the round.
Browne went back to his kicks to start out the second round. Lewis eventually exploded with a flurry of punches. Browne miraculously survived but was taken to the ground. After absorbing a few shots, Browne got back up. Lewis then knocked Browne down with a punch. Lewis began throwing vicious ground-and-pound shots to knock Browne out.
Official result:
Derrick Lewis def. Travis Browne by knockout (Rd 1)

After the fight Lewis took to the mic, proclaimed Browne a woman beater and said, “Where’s Ronda at?”. Post-fight interviewer Bryan Stann ignored him.
