Former Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight and welterweight fighter Matt Riddle has found life outside of the octagon in the squared circle. Since being cut from the organization for repeated failed drug tests (marijuana), Riddle tinkered with the idea of continuing his career as a mixed martial artist but chose to join the Monster Factory in New Jersey to start a pro-wrestling career.
Riddle has since taken to the sport like nobody else has since Olympian Kurt Angle made the transition from amateur wrestling to WWE; Riddle’s career took off faster than UFC or wrestling experts expected and it seems as if he is already in talks with WWE after conquering the independent organizations.
Riddle told Irish Daily Mirror, “I don’t know what my situation is with the WWE. I’ve talked to [William] Regal [General Manager of NXT] and I’ve talked to Triple H [Vice President of Talent Relations]. I’ve talked to everyone important there. They all like my work, they dig my stuff.”
