Video: Joanna Champion Shoots Down Andrade Rumors, Says She’s Not Fighting

Reports surfaced out of Poland that UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk would be defending her title against Jessica Andrade at UFC 211 in Dallas on May 13.

“Joanna Champion” took to her Facebook page to debunk the report in English and Polish.

“Hi guys, this is Joanna Champion,” Jedrzejczyk stated. “I’m not fighting in Dallas. It’s just a rumor. Stay tuned.”

MMAImports.com has learned while the fight isn’t official, UFC 211 is the targeted date for the fight.

Jedrzejczyk is undefeated in 13 fights with seven of those in the UFC and four consecutive title defenses. She’s coming off a unanimous decision victory against Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC 205 back in November.

Since coming to the 115-pound division in June, Andrade’s (16-5) won all three of her fights including two by stoppage. The icing on the cake to the title opportunity was a hard-fought unanimous decision victory over Angela Hill nine days ago at UFC FIght Night 105.

UFC 211 takes place on May 13 from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The main event features Stipe Miocic defending the UFC heavyweight title against Junior dos Santos.

Jedrzejczyk vs. Andrade is the likely co-main event of the show.
