Tito Ortiz, who recently retired from MMA, doesn’t think UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor stands a chance in a boxing ring against Floyd “Money” Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao.
TMZ Sports recently asked Ortiz if he would rather watch McGregor fight Mayweather or Pacquiao.
“I would say, McGregor/Pacquiao,” Ortiz said. “No, McGregor/Mayweather. McGregor has no chance with either one of those guys. That’s like comparing chess to checkers. You can’t do it. Apples to oranges. It ain’t happening.”
McGregor has recently received offers to fight both Mayweather and Pacquiao but hasn’t agreed to either fight.
However, during an interview he sold on online pay-per-view, McGregor said he believes he will fight Mayweather at the end of 2017 or in the beginning of 2018. He also said his next fight will be in a boxing ring.
Ortiz recently retired following a submission win over Chael Sonnen. On Jan. 21, at Bellator 170, Ortiz submitted Sonnen with a rear-naked choke to earn the 19th victory of his MMA career.
Ortiz is a member of the UFC Hall of Fame and is a former UFC light heavyweight champion. Ortiz earned his spot in the hall of fame after successfully defending his title on five separate occasions.
