UFC strawweight contender Jessica Andrade and Invicta Strawweight Champion Angela Hill fought in a back-in-fourth war on Saturday night that rightfully earned them “Fight of the Night” honors.
Throughout the fight, Andrade threw devastating flurries that would knock out almost any women in the world. However, Hill showed off an iron chin. Hill also stayed calm and managed to throw offense of her own while weathering Andrade’s storm.
Following the fight, UFC President Dana White said Andrade will receive the next shot at the UFC strawweight title against UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
Andrade earned a title shot after going on a three-fight win streak and being unbeaten as a strawweight.
In June, at UFC 199, Andrade made her strawweight debut. On that night, she defeated former title challenger Jessica Penne by TKO.
In September, at UFC 203, Andrade defeated Joanne Calderwood by submission, via a guillotine choke, at the end of the first round.
