As soon as Max Holloway defeated Anthony “Showtime” Pettis to become the interim featherweight champion, he has been on a mission trying to get undisputed champion Jose Aldo to agree on a match-date.
According to Aldo and his camp, however, the hold up was thanks to Holloway. No matter who was holding up the fight, UFC President Dana White has confirmed that Aldo vs. Holloway for the undisputed championship is essentially a “done deal”.
White shared on a recent edition of “5ive Rounds” with Brett Okamoto that Aldo and Holloway’s bout is official, but he simply forgot the date:
Just taped 5ive Rounds with guest @danawhite. He told me Aldo vs. Holloway is a done deal … but couldn't remember the date.
