Ultimate Fighting Championship may be the premier fight organization in the world with the best collection of talent, but that doesn’t mean the fighters will have issues finding paydays away from the octagon. While the UFC presents much more of an opportunity to become a star than other organizations, those organizations are likely willing to pay decent money for a one-off fight.
After it was revealed that rising star Misha Cirkunov was done with the UFC, he fielded offers around the world. Cirkunov’s departure with the UFC was not a fault of his performances inside the octagon or a hot-headed Dana White, though. White mentioned weeks ago that the light heavyweight’s future with the UFC was no more after negotiations went sour. “I met with Misha and his wife, and good people and everything else, but he ended up really flaking out on the deal. So I’m not interested,” White said. “I’m done. He knows I’m done. I made it very clear I’m done.”
White made it very clear that he was done, but he has apparently made it very clear that he was willing to re-negotiate as Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie confirms the fighter is back under the UFC banner:
Dana White confirmed to TSN today that Misha Cirkunov is back in the UFC: "We got a deal done."
