Reports have been circulating that Floyd Mayweather’s cross-sport super fight with Conor McGregor is close to being made official, but UFC President Dana White wants everybody to pump the breaks on their excitement.
McGregor and Mayweather have both been teasing the possibility of a super fight taking place for the past year but the chances of the fight happening have only recently become more of a reality than ever before. Mayweather has been teasing McGregor to sign the contract that he had already “written up” before insulting the entire sport of mixed martial arts. A report was released stating the fight has been signed for June, but White is looking to shut those rumors down.
Kevin Iole recently got in touch with the boss who told the reporter that the fight is “so far” from being made official:
Re reports circulating that Mayweather-McGregor fight is made, relax. Per Dana White, "Soooooooooo far from being made."

McGregor has been sitting on the sidelines since his double championship victory at “UFC 205” last year. The current lightweight champion has been receiving offers from both fighters inside and outside the octagon; Do you think McGregor will make a transition to boxing to square off with Mayweather, or will he return to the octagon later on this year and defend his lightweight crown?
