The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s middleweight division may be one of the most stacked weight classes in company history. The champion, Michael Bisping, has already proven himself a world champion when he defended the gold against Dan Henderson at UFC 206 last year.
Ranked under him anxiously awaiting their shot at the gold are the likes of Yoel Romero, Ronaldo Souza, Luke Rockhold, Chris Weidman, and Gegard Mousasi. Either one of those fighters could walk out of the octagon with the championship strapped around their waist at any given moment. Not to mention the middleweight arrival of returning superstar Georges St-Pierre.
The Canadian fighter will be earning a shot at Bisping’s championship in just his first fight back inside the octagon, however, forcing top contender Romero to wait. White had mentioned after Romero’s vicious knockout win over Weidman that he was likely to be the next challenger, but the return of GSP put a stop to those plans.
Dana White spoke with Aaron Bronsteter of TSN and confirmed that after St-Pierre’s title shot, Romero would be next in line for a shot at the middleweight gold:
On @TSN_Sports, @danawhite says GSP's fight will be in Vegas and not in Canada, says Romero is next in line and he will deal with him

Do you think what happened was fair? Should Romero have received a shot at the gold before GSP, or was the fight with Bisping and St-Pierre the right one to make? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
