Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum and former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold could eventually be hinting toward a showdown in the octagon if the trash-talk continues like this.
Rockhold was caught off guard earlier this week when Werdum commented that he was not a fan of the American Kickboxing Academy fighter, stating that he celebrated and popped a bottle of champagne when he got knocked out by current champion Michael Bisping at “UFC 199”. Rockhold was apparently very upset with this and has been speaking with Ultimate Fighting Championship officials to get a fight lined up with the former heavyweight champion.
Rockhold made his intentions crystal clear when he made an appearance on “UFC Tonight” where he called out Werdum. However, it appears as if Werdum is not interested in the bout. Werdum responded to Rockhold’s challenge from “UFC Tonight” by telling MMA Fighting:
“I only fight people, I don’t fight chickens. He’s just promoting himself because he knows nobody is talking about him. I’m one step away from the belt. Why would I fight a chicken?”
