Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum and Luke Rockhold could have been on a collision course that resulted in a fight inside the octagon, but it seems the Brazilian’s camp is simply laughing the fight offer off.
Former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold was none-too-pleased with the fact that Werdum celebrated when Michael Bisping knocked him out cold at “UFC 199” last year. When word got back to Rockhold that Werdum celebrated his victory, the middleweight went to Ultimate Fighting Championship management and requested a fight with the heavyweight scrapper.
Werdum has made it clear that his goal is to once again become the heavyweight champion, and a fight with a middleweight could hinder his chances of being next in line for a shot at the gold. When word got back to Werdum’s manager about the challenge, he responded by saying:
