Former Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight title challenger Jeff Monson just cannot seem to escape controversy. Whether the heavyweight is defending his views on the United States of America or is getting taken advantage of during a fight, Monson has controversy follow him wherever he goes.
His next fight is no different, as he is set to square off with convicted murderer Maxim Novoselov. The bout will take place at “Clash of the Titans” on April 22, 2017 in Russia, Bloody Elbow reports. Monson’s representative recently spoke with Bloody Elbow, telling them that Monson is not concerned that his opponent is a convicted murderer:
“Jeff isn’t concerned that he’s going up against an ex-con. Doing time has never been a precondition for being a gifted or an accomplished fighter. Besides, it’s no secret that Jeff himself isn’t the most law-abiding citizen.”
