Less than a month away from his fight with Arnold Allen on the main card opener of “UFC Fight Night 107”, featherweight Makwan Amirkhani saved his brother from a stabbing and halted a robbery all with one swift punch.
Amirkhani opened up about the incident on a recent edition of the MMA Hour, saying that he received a call from his brother’s wife while he and his family were cooking. Amirkhani claims there was a robbery attempt at a friend’s house that resulted in one of the children hiding in a closet while wielding a knife. Makwan and his brother ran over to the house and halted the robbery as the alleged thieves ran off.
Makwan’s brother chased them down and just when it seemed like he had them apprehended, he saw an instrument that would lead him to believe his brother was about to be stabbed.
“It looked like a knife and I thought they were stabbing my brother. I was like, ‘I don’t care. They can stab me, too. But I’m gonna help my brother.’”
The instrument ended up being a screwdriver, but all Makwan needed was one punch to end the robber’s night.
“I was like, he’s gonna die now. All I needed was one punch and this [expletive] guy was lying on the snow. Then it was all over the news.”
“This is not normal in Finland. It’s really safe here and really unusual that sh*t like this happens. But I think it was a bad day in the office for those two guys.”
