No matter who Georges St-Pierre stepped into the octagon with for his return bout, it was sure to set the mixed martial arts community ablaze. While UFC President Dana White’s announcement of GSP being the next challenger for Michael Bisping’s championship woke the MMA community up, it may have been for all the wrong reasons.
The log-jam at the top of the middleweight division will continue as White mentioned that Romero would be next in line for a shot after St-Pierre. While the date and location for Bisping’s next championship defense is still up in the air, it is going to be a long while before Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza gets his run at the gold. MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani got in touch with “Jacare”, who had this to say about the announcement:
From Jacare's management: "Michael 'The Count' Bisping is now Michael 'The King' Bisping, he just got promoted! Money fights win again."
