After interjecting himself into Luke Rockhold’s and Fabricio Werdum’s rivalry, Francis Ngannou seems like he is happy to step aside and let the former middleweight champion take on his “prey”.
Rockhold has been asking officials in the Ultimate Fighting Championship to get a shot at making the move to heavyweight just so he can challenge the former heavyweight champion to a fight. The rivalry all started when Werdum mentioned he was happy that Rockhold had lost the belt to Michael Bisping, going as far to say he popped a bottle to celebrate the title change. Rockhold, currently stuck in the slow-moving middleweight division, asked matchmakers to square off with Werdum but top contender Francis Ngannou seemed like he was having none of that.
Ngannou stepped in the middle of the beef, pointing out that Werdum was to be his future “prey”. Rockhold took the side of Ngannou and offered this tweet, essentially giving Rockhold his blessing to take the fight:
