There was a time when Ronda Rousey could do no wrong. The former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion was on the front page of almost every major news website in the days leading up to her fights, proving that mixed martial arts could transcend into the mainstream media. Her successful championship defenses became more and more impressive as each one passed, and artists around the world sent Rousey their homemade works hoping to impress the champion.
Nothing was more impressive perhaps than the mural of Rousey in Venice Beach. When that mural went up, Rousey had been the undefeated queen of the octagon and there wasn’t a woman who could touch her. Since then, however, Rousey has suffered two devastating knockouts and her stock has fallen a great deal in the eyes of the fans.
