Ultimate Fighting Championship suffered a major blow earlier in March when it was revealed that their plans for the interim lightweight championship would be placed on hold; Khabib Nurmagomedov had been forced out of his title bout with Tony Ferguson, forcing officials to scrap the match just twenty-four hours away from fight night.
Since then, Ferguson has been a man on a mission making sure he isn’t wronged in the situation. He tried to be a company man and ask his fans to still order the event despite him not fighting on it. When “El Cucuy” received his check, he did not even receive his show money despite coming in and making weight.
