Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson never had their chance to fight over the interim lightweight championship, as Nurmagomedov was forced out of their “UFC 209” scrap with just one days notice. Ferguson found a number of other opponents that would be willing to step in for him, but Ultimate Fighting Championship ruled to cancel the fight completely and pull Tony from the card as well.
It seems that weeks removed from what was supposed to be “fight night” for Ferguson, he still has his sights set on Nurmagomedov.
Nurmagomedov was rumored to be eating tiramisu cake on the week of his fight with Ferguson, which he would ultimately pull out of due to complications with cutting weight. Ferguson recently took to his social media page to fire off an insult at Nurmagomedov, poking fun of his alleged eating habits:
