When the UFC 209 co-main event between Khabib and Ferguson fell through with just 24-hours to spare, the MMA world mourned.
It was the most highly anticipated fight on the night, and the winner was going to put themselves right smack in the center of the cage with division champion Conor McGregor.
Ferguson has since expressed his concerns with rebooking the match, and Khabib’s camp has stated they’re ready to get back to work ASAP. The contradictions in opinion between these two camps has no doubt stalled the future booking of the match.
According to UFC insider Ariel Helwani, the UFC approached both men about getting on the UFC 210 fight card, though they failed at making it happen.

Still only 4 fights listed on the UFC 210 PPV graphic. UFC did try to book Ferguson-Khabib & Ferguson-Alvarez for it this week but no luck.

No reason why the UFC couldn’t come to terms with the fighters was given at the time of this report, though, rumors are currently circulating that a health scare may force Khabib into an early retirement.
