UFC Fighter Discusses Be Called In For Mayweather’s Conor McGregor Fight Camp

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is starting to take action towards preparing himself for one of the biggest fights of his career. Mayweather Jr. has been teasing a cross-sport super fight with Conor McGregor for nearly a year and it appears all that’s left to be done for their negotiations is for them to sign the dotted lines.

Mayweather Jr. has called upon the aid of Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight Kevin Lee who is currently ranked eleventh in his division. Lee was actually approached a year ago to help Mayweather Jr. train for a fight with McGregor even when this bout seemed like nothing more than a dream. Lee recently spoke with Helen Yee about mixing it up with Mayweather in the training room and the future of McGregor past this boxing fight [via. Bloody Elbow]:

“That fight with Floyd, it’s going to happen. Floyd’s management reached out to me a little while ago and asked me to be a part of the camp. So I’m excited to do that, I could use a couple bucks in my pocket, that’s for sure.”

“It’s a win-win situation for him. If he loses — which he’s going to lose, he don’t stand a chance in the fight — he knows it going in he’s just there for the cash grab and then he’ll come back and fight (Nate) Diaz, or he’ll bump up and fight Tyron (Woodley), before he jumps down and messes with us real killers at 155. He ain’t stupid.”
