Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua snagged his third consecutive win at last weekend’s UFC Fight Night 106 in Brazil. The UFC veteran took out Gian Villante by way of TKO in the third round.
After trading with the competitor for two rounds, Rua landed a stunning right hook on Villante. The time tested killer instinct kicking in, “Shogun” capitalized on the strike and locked in his TKO victory.
While “Shogun” and Villante were the featured co-main event, UFC Fight Night 106 saw UFC legend Vitor Belfort go against Kelvin Gastelum in the main event. Gastelum made quick work of the former UFC light heavyweight champion as he scored a TKO victory in the very first round, putting Belfort on a three fight losing streak.
