UFC Results: Johnson Earns The Decision Win Over Omielanczuk

Neither fighter shied away from skipping the feeling out process, as Omielanczuk was willing to adapt to whatever situation Johnson put him in. Johnson, the wrestler, tried to take the fight down early on but Omielanczuk showed great defense my avoiding being plopped on the mat. The majority of the round saw Omielanczuk fighting off takedown attempts, so the opening five minutes was razor-close.

Omielanczuk went right back to fighting the takedowns in the second round, but the two spent more time in the middle of the octagon striking in the second. Because they skipped the feeling out process, neither fighter found a comfortable striking distance which led to a lot of inaccurate strikes in the second and third.

The pace of the fight never truly picked up; The only time the fans in the O2 Arena popped was when there was a big punch thrown. Often times, that punch would miss, however.

As the fight made its way back to the center of the octagon with less than a minute remaining, Omielanczuk started to get more aggressive while throwing elbows but his momentum was cut short when he shot for a takedown. Johnson, the wrestler, had no issues shrugging off that attempt before turning it into one of his own.

Timothy Johnson def. Daniel Omielanczuk by way of Split Decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28)
