Heavyweights Luis Henrique and Marcin Tybura were given the opportunity to showcase their power in the featured preliminary fight of the night, fighting on FS1 just before the pay-per-view kicked off.
After a brief feeling out process, Tybura took Henrique down to the canvas and threatened to take his back. Henrique was able to spin out of danger and Tybura landed in half guard. Tybura could not keep Henrique on the mat and it wasn’t long before Henrique returned the favor with a takedown of his own. Tybura wall-walked his way back to his feet where the round ended.
The two tied up as soon as the round began and Henrique dragged Tybura down to the mat. Heavy strikes were few and far between in the second round, which was a round that saw both men rely on their grappling skills heavily.
Tybura kicks off the action in the final round with a stiff right-cross which Henrique simply ate. Henrique pushed the action to the octagon fence where Henrique stalled more to recover from his fatigue. Tybura showed frustration along the fence, firing off knees along the head which wobbled Henrique. Henrique stalled some more and referee Herb Dean separated the two, resetting the action in the middle of the octagon.
The action would find its way back to the fence right away, however, as Tybura worked for a takedown of his own. Henrique tried to muscle his way into a standing guillotine which Tybura ultimately slipped out of.
Tybura brought the fight to the mat and found himself in full mount. He teed off on Henrique until Herb Dean stepped in and waved the fight off.
