UFC on FOX 24 went down last weekend, with Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight Robert Whittaker landing a decisive victory over No. 3 contender Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza. Directly after snagging the win, Whittaker began receiving some attention.
After Whittaker’s TKO victory over Ronaldo Souza, former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold called out the victor for a fight at July’s International Fight Week.
Now, it would appear that Whittaker has responded to the former champion. He does not seem terribly interested in the bout. As reported by MMA Junkie, Whittaker had the following to say when asked about Rockhold’s shout out.
“It’s news to me. It’s cool, but it’s too fresh. I’ve got to get back home to my kids, I’ve got to see my wife. Let me see my family first. It’s a bit rushed. It’s too much to process at once.” He said.
Whittaker followed up by doubling down that he is on a title run. “I’m on my title run. I’m on my run (and) I want that belt.” He said.
