Fedor Emelianenko is regarded by many as one of the baddest men to never step foot inside Ultimate Fighting Championship’s octagon. “The Last Emperor” reigned supreme in PRIDE Fighting Championship while he was in his prime, and tore through any and all competition officials put in front of him.
Just when it seemed like Emelianenko was going to lose, he would turn the tables on his opponent and, somehow, walk out of the ring as the PRIDE Heavyweight Champion. It didn’t matter if he was facing someone stronger like Kevin Randleman or a grappling ace like Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira, Emelianenko had everybody’s number.
Mirko Cro Cop had been tearing through the heavyweight ranks in PRIDE while Fedor was champion, and fans started questioning whether or not the champion had finally found his match. Further fuel was added to that fire when Cro Cop took out Fedor’s brother Alexander in dominant fashion.
Fedor was backstage preparing for his own match at Pride Conflict 2004 where he watched the monitor while Cro Cop pummeled Alexander Emelianenko into defeat. Check out the clip below:
