The UFC Bantamweight Championship will be up for grabs in the co-main event of “UFC 213” when champion Cody “No Love” Garbrandt defends against challenger TJ Dillashaw. The two rivals are looking forward to settling their beef inside the octagon, but until then, they’ll have to stare each other down on the set of “The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption”.
The rivalry between Garbrandt and Dillashaw dates back before the bantamweight championship made its way around the waist of “No Love”, but instead, when Dillashaw was bantamweight king. Dillashaw had left Team Alpha Male in favor of Elevation Fight Team and the split rubbed a lot of TAM fighters the wrong way.
Before the split, Dillashaw and Duane “Bang” Ludwig both spent a lot of time in the Sacramento, California gym. Ludwig was serving as a temporary coach for the gym and under one of his training sessions, Dillashaw allegedly landed a cheap shot on a fighter and ended his career.
Who the fighter was has been up in the air since the secret made its way out weeks ago, but Garbrandt recently took to social media to reveal who the fighter was. Chris Holdsworth, who is currently on TAM’s coaching staff, was apparently cheap shotted by Dillashaw and practice and was forced to end his career:
You call that a cheap shot? what about when @TJDillashaw cheap shotted Holdsworth under your practice & ended his career ? @DUANEBANGCOM
