United Airlines caused every social media outlet from Facebook to Twitter to turn into a frenzy in the defense of a man who was drug off their airplane after refusing to leave even though it was United Airlines’ fault that the flight was overbooked in the first place.
Dr. David Dao was randomly selected by the computer as a customer who would be asked to leave the plane so United employees could get to the next airport to help out an understaffed flight. Dao had paid for his seat and did not leave the plane after being asked to by attendants. In response to this, United called the Chicago police and had the doctor forcefully removed from his seat to the point where he was bleeding from his lip.
The Gracie Brothers saw this as an opportunity to shed some light on the brutality of the situation all the while showing their students how to handle this situation should it ever happen to them. Check out the video below to see what the doctor could have done:
