Popular comedian and actor Charlie Murphy, the brother of Eddie, has passed away at just fifty-seven years old. According to Charlie’s manager, he passed away from leukemia on Wednesday morning in a New York City Hospital. Before his passing, TMZ learned that he was undergoing chemotherapy for treatment.
Murphy has made a name for himself on the American stand-up comedy scene, but perhaps his greatest accomplishment in Hollywood will be landing a much-deserved spot on the cast of “Chappelle Show” which took the world by storm years ago. Fellow comedian Joe Rogan recently spoke out about just how classic of a comedian Murphy is, and you can watch it below:
“Charlie is a prince of a human being. He’s a gem. I love that guy. He’s such a good dude. I hung out with that dude, like, we did twenty-two shows together. And I liked him more every night. He’s a solid standup dude. Charlie Murphy is a really great guy.”
“Charlie Murphy is a legit martial artist too! Oh yeah. He’s a legit black belt in karate. He’s well immersed in martial arts. Like, you talk to him about martial arts… Charlie’s been doing martial arts since he was young. We had some great conversations about it.”
