Top UFC lightweight, and Ultimate Fighter winner, Al Iaquinta was out of action for two-years before knocking out Diego Sanchez on Saturday Night.
Following the bout, Al took to twitter, cussed out the UFC, and let the world know that the issues that kept him out of action for two years are still present.
Now, two days removed from fight night, Al takes to Ariel Helwani’s “The MMA Hour” to continue his assault on the world’s largest MMA promotion.
Here’s what he said:
“I never had a boring fight. I come to fight every time. 5 fights in a row, 4 knockouts in the last 5. No bonus money, ever. They suck… F*ck Them”
…
“I don’t want to be that guy, but we need to do something. What are we doing? This is dumb…. You can’t even ask them about a union. Ask Dana White about a union… Why doesn’t he talk about it? … He’s done everything for the sport, now it’s time to do something for the fighters.”
…
“A bonus is a little something extra. $50,000 is like three-times some of these guys pay. That’s not a bonus. That’s like life changing stuff. It looks great, but guess what.
That’s the way they control you. You get up on the mic, suck up to the man. You thank Joe Silva, Thank you Dana White and those are the guys that get the bonuses. That’s there way. ‘Kiss my ass and I’ll give you a little scrap.'”
…
“I don’t care… I don’t have to suck up to anybody and I can do it my way. If I want to fight, I’ll fight. I’m not the guy sucking up to the UFC… F*ck you if I want to fight at Madison Square Garden I wont fight. I don’t care. I fight because I fight. I don’t fight for the UFC. I fight for myself and my family.
The UFC has done nothing for me. They left me high and dry. I had to beg them for knee surgery. Their doctor told me I would never fight again. Last night I got in the cage. They told me I would never fight again if I got the surgery I wanted to have.”
