Kansas City, Missouri welcomed an exciting UFC event, as UFC on FOX 24 went down tonight inside the Sprint Center. Flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson fought for his tenth consecutive title defense against Wilson Reis in the night’s main event.
Welterweight Zak Cummings put himself on a winning streak as you choked out Nathan Coy with a guillotine choke in the first round during the night. While the fighter snagged another win, the referee could have potentially ended the bout a bit sooner.
After sinking in the guillotine choke, Nathan Coy’s body visibly goes limp. After a few moments, the referee lifted the hand of Coy and determined that the fighter was unresponsive. After coming to the realization, the referee pushed Cummings away from his opponent and ended the match.
However, commentators Jon Anik and Brian Stann were well ahead on the incident. The two color commentators can be heard yelling for the referee to end the match, as Cummings tightens his choke on the submitted opponent.
HUGE WIN for @ZakCummings at home!! #UFCKansasCity #UFCFIGHTPASS pic.twitter.com/5VCi9KGMlj
