Whenever Ronda Rousey stepped into the octagon, the value of the Ultimate Fighting Championship rose tenfold as everybody knew they would do big business regardless. Rousey, one of the most dominant and polarizing figures the bantamweight division has ever seen, commanded attention every time she signed the dotted lines to make her fights official.
“Thug” Rose Namajunas believes that she has what it takes to become the next Ronda Rousey of the UFC. She proved that she can be as dominant as the former bantamweight champion this past weekend at “UFC on FOX 24” where she dominated “The Karate Hottie” Michelle Waterson into submission.
Waterson had a ton of momentum walking into their nationally televised bout and it was mentioned that she could be next in line for a shot at the gold had she won. Namajunas had an answer for everything Waterson threw her way before eventually submitting her with a painful rear-naked choke.
Namajunas recently sat down with TMZ Sports and expressed that she believes she has what it takes to become the next big thing, not just in women’s mixed martial arts but for the sport as a whole. Check out what she said in the clip below:
