In 2012, Two children faced off against each other inside a cage at ARMFC for a mixed martial arts match. Seven-year-old Hayk Tashchyan and six-year-old Minas Avagyan were competing in the Armenian event.
The full contact, mixed martial arts match can be seen in the video below. The two children took on the match with the intensity of much older competitors. The application of child fighting has been a hot topic for many years.
Martial Arts Remix posted a video of the event to Facebook, stating “Kids from Armenia fighting without protection in a cage #notcool.”
Ultimately, the bout has received a mass of attention in its own rite. While the children wore gloves and used mouth guards, they were not permitted sparring gear for the head, feet or shins.
