Ultimate Fighting Championship made the mixed martial arts community collectively scratch their heads when they revealed Phil Brooks, better known as “CM Punk”, had been signed to a deal to fight for the promotion.
Punk had absolutely no combat sports experience except for some Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training sessions in between his professional wrestling matches with the World Wrestling Entertainment. Despite not having any experience, Punk eventually laced up the gloves and stepped into the octagon with Mickey Gall at “UFC 203”.
The fight did not end in Punk’s favor.
Gall took Punk down to the mat immediately after ducking a punch. Gall proceeded to transition at will, pummeling Punk in the process before making his way to the back of the former wrestler. Gall cranked on the rear-naked choke, forcing Punk into submission in just the first round.
Now, other fighters in the organization are calling out Punk due to the rub that Gall got from fighting him. There is no doubt that Punk has star power, and anything these fighters can feed off of is for the best! Mike Jackson just took to the internet with this pro wrestling promo aimed at Punk:
