UFC Locks Up Jacare Souza, Will Not Let Him Explore Free-Agency

When it was revealed that Ultimate Fighting Championship had signed an exclusive deal with Reebok to make them the sole sponsor of the octagon for fighters, fans and fighters alike thought it was a matter of months before fighters left the promotion in search of better income. Rory MacDonald, Benson Henderson, and Ryan Bader have all tested the free agency market to great success and UFC did not want to take that risk again.

Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza is, without a doubt, one of the most dangerous middleweights in the world. The fact that he is always willing to step into the octagon to prove he is the most dominant fighter without a championship around his waist goes to show just how much of a warrior this man truly is.

With the middleweight championship currently hung up in a fight between Michael Bisping and Georges St-Pierre, the contenders of the weight class are left wondering when they will get their opportunities. While cries for an interim championship have largely been ignored by Dana White, it seems he is working hard to keep his fighters happy.

White recently took to social media to show off the fact that he has re-signed one of the hottest middleweights in the world in Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza. Souza straps on the gloves to square off with Robert Whittaker this weekend at “UFC on FOX 24” but he had enough time to sign his new deal. Check it out below:
