Myles Jury and Mike De La Torre wrapped up the preliminary portion of “UFC 210: Cormier vs. Johnson II” with their featherweight contest on FS1. It took all of a minute for the fight to hit the ground, and Jury transitioned directly to the back of De La Torre.
De La Torre fought off the rear naked choke for as long as he could, showing game submission defense. De La Torre spun out of the bad positioning into another bad spot, with his stomach flat on the mat and Jury postured over him. Jury tried his hardest to tee off and finish the fight but De La Torre was forced to spin out of position again, putting Jury right back in full mount.
Jury fired off elbow after elbow, working hard to finish the fight and De La Torre simply ate too many shots. The referee was forced to step in and wave off the fight, giving Jury the easy first round win.
