“Super” Sage Northcutt’s rise in popularity in the mixed martial arts world seems like it happened overnight. Just five fights into his run with the Ultimate Fighting Championship and he is already one of the more recognized names in the business; It helped that he became the youngest mixed martial artist to sign an exclusive sponsorship deal with Reebok early on in his career.
Northcutt impressed when he made quick work of Francisco Trevino and Cody Pfister in his first two fights, but strep-throat would hinder his performance against Bryan Barberena and ultimately give him his first loss.
Just as Northcutt was humble in victory, he was humble in defeat and came back better than ever when he showcased his resiliency in a bout against Enrique Marín at “UFC 200”. Northcutt was nearly finished in the fight but came back to win the bout by way of unanimous decision.
Northcutt has become a bit of a meme on the internet, known for his polite manners rather than his rugged looks. Northcutt can be seen sporting a beard in this picture, though, and if there weren’t photographic evidence it’d be a mere myth if people said he could grow a beard:

How do you think he looks while rocking a beard?
